Timeframe: The exemption period begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 1st, and concludes at midnight on Saturday, August 2nd. Sunday, August 3rd, is not included.
Eligible items: Clothing and footwear with a sales price less than $100 per item will be exempt from the state's sales tax. Examples include underclothes, sneakers, coats, jeans, and uniforms.
Exclusions: Items priced at $100 or more are not exempt. The exemption also does not apply to backpacks, jewelry, sporting equipment, or clothing designed for athletic or protective use.
