Fill The Mayflower Event: Friday, May 13- Saturday, May 14
Valley West Mall and Select Van and Storage - a Mayflower company have teamed up with the FreeStore and Children and Families of Iowa to collect gently used household items for distribution to victims of domestic violence.
Each year thousands of domestic violence victims across our state flee their homes and must start over. Often these individuals have little more than the clothes on their back. The donations collected during this event will be delivered to the FreeStore and distributed to those individuals free of charge as they set up their new homes.
Drop off your donations and know you will be helping a family start a new, better chapter in their lives. Thanks to donors like you, the FreeStore was able to provide household goods to over 210 victims of domestic violence and their families last year. For more information please visit www.thefreestore.org or call 515-223-8329.
You can drop off your gently used household items at Valley West Mall in the South West parking lot during the following times:
· Friday, May 13: 4pm to 7pm
· Saturday, May 14: 8am to 5pm
Also join the Iowa Barbeque Society at Valley West Mall on Friday, May 13th from 4-7pm for dinner. Just drive through and get your "to go" box full of delicious BBQ to take home . All proceeds from the dinner will go directly to the FreeStore.
